Polyacrylamide is an essential chemical auxiliary for all chemical industries.According to different uses, it can be divided into two processes: homopolymerization (pre hydrolysis of acrylamide) and copolymerization (copolymerization of acrylamide and sodium acrylate). In neutral alkaline medium, it is characterized by high polymer electrolytes, sensitive to salt electrolytes, and crosslinked with high valence metal ions to form insoluble gel.
Anionic polyacrylamide can be used as coagulant aid, retention agent, sludge dehydrating agent and coagulant settling agent. It is mainly used to purify drinking water and domestic sewage; to purify industrial water and industrial wastewater; to purify reinjection water from mines and oilfields; to purify paper-making, electroplating, electronics, dyeing and finishing, pharmaceutical, metallurgy, coal washing, leather and various chemical wastewater. The most appropriate product type should be selected according to the conditions and water quality of the system to be treated.
Flocculation principle: mainly for inorganic suspended particles and suspended solids with positive charge, it can absorb suspended solid particles in water, and bridge between particles to form large flocculate. Therefore, it can accelerate the sedimentation of particles in the suspension, accelerate the clarification of the solution and promote filtration.

Precautions for product selection:
1、The selection of coagulant must fully consider the requirements of process and equipment.
2、The strength of flocs can be improved by increasing the molecular weight of flocculants.
3、The charge value of flocculant must be screened by experiment.
4、Climate change (temperature) affects the selection of flocculant.
5、The molecular weight of the flocculant should be selected according to the floc size required by the treatment process.
6、Before treatment, the flocculant must be fully mixed with sludge to dissolve.
1、As a flocculant, it is mainly used in industrial solid-liquid separation process, including sedimentation, clarification, thickening and sludge dewatering. The main industries applied are: urban sewage treatment, papermaking industry, food processing industry, petrochemical industry, metallurgy industry, mineral processing industry, dyeing industry, sugar industry and wastewater treatment of various industries. It is used for sludge precipitation and sludge dewatering in the treatment of municipal sewage, meat, poultry and food processing wastewater. Through the positive charge group contained in it, the negative charge organic colloid in the sludge can be neutralized and the excellent bridging and coagulating function of polymer can promote the colloidal particles to aggregate into large flocs and separate them from the suspension. The effect is obvious and the dosage is small.
2、It can be used as paper dry strength agent, retention aid and drainage aid in paper industry, which can greatly improve the quality of paper, save cost and improve the production capacity of paper mills. It can directly interact with inorganic salt ions, fibers and other organic polymers to enhance the physical strength of the paper, reduce the loss of fibers or fillers, speed up the filtration, play the role of reinforcement, retention and drainage, and can also be used for the treatment of white water. At the same time, it can play an obvious flocculation effect in the deinking process.
3、Fiber slurry (asbestos cement products) can improve the drainage property of the formed asbestos cement products and increase the strength of the asbestos board blank; in the insulation board, it can improve the binding ability of additives and fibers.

Usage and precautions:
1、0.1% concentration of water solution is suitable for practical neutral salt free water.
2、Due to the wide range of pH value of water, the general dosage is 0.1-10ppm (0.1-10mg / L).
3、Dissolve thoroughly. When dissolving, the water body should be fully stirred up, and then the powder should be added slowly and evenly to prevent the blocking of pipes and pumps caused by large flocs and fish eyes.
4、The stirring speed is generally 200 rpm, and the time is not less than 60 minutes. The dissolution can be accelerated by properly increasing the water temperature by 20-30 ℃. The highest temperature of liquid medicine should be less than 60 ℃.
5、Determine the dosage. The dosage was determined by experiment before use. When the dosage is too low, it will not work. If the dosage is too high, PAM will not flocculate, but disperse and stabilize.
6、The working site should be washed with water frequently to keep it clean. Due to its high viscosity, the surface of PAM scattered underground is smooth when encountering water, which prevents operators from slipping and causing safety accidents.
The use of polyacrylamide should follow the following principles:
1、Granular polyacrylamide flocculant can not be directly added to the sewage. Before use, it must be dissolved in water and treated with its aqueous solution.
2、The water used to dissolve the granular polymer should be clean (such as tap water), not sewage. Normal temperature water can be used, generally no heating is needed. When the water temperature is lower than 5 ℃, the dissolution is very slow. With the increase of water temperature, the dissolution rate will be accelerated, but the degradation of polymer will be accelerated above 40 ℃, which will affect the application effect. Generally, tap water is suitable for preparing polymer solution. Strong acid, strong alkali and high salt water are not suitable for preparation.
3、The concentration of polymer solution is recommended to be 0.1% - 0.3%, i.e. 0.1g-0.3g polymer powder in 1 liter of water.
